Liquidation pallet and resale glossary

Use these terms to read offers, plan delivery and keep sale records. Seller labels can vary, so read the actual offer and contract before relying on a familiar name.

As of October 2026, policy and fee definitions below reflect the cited source checks; recheck the rules for your order, product and state. This glossary is not legal, tax or financial advice.

3PL / third-party logistics

A firm that stores goods or handles orders for another business; in a liquidation offer, the label describes that relationship rather than condition or selling rights. See: 3PL pallets and truckloads.

Acceptance

The carrier taking custody of a parcel; keep the receipt or other proof with the shipment record. See: packing and shipping.

Accessorial charge

An extra freight charge for a service outside the basic quote, such as a liftgate or special handling; check which services your quote includes. Source. See: pallet freight.

Acquisition cost

The purchase cost assigned to an item; state which buying charges you've included. See: landed cost.

Activation Lock

Apple's account-linked protection can block a new owner from setting up an iPhone or iPad even after erasure. Apple advises checking that a used device is no longer linked to the former owner's account before taking ownership. Source. See: electronics pallets.

Adulterated cosmetic

A cosmetic that fails legal safety, contents or handling rules, including contamination or storage in unsanitary conditions. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Amazon .com / FBA streams

Amazon-owned stock and stock held through Fulfillment by Amazon for other sellers are separate source streams; neither is a function-test result. Source. See: Amazon buying routes.

Amazon mediums

Seller shorthand for mixed mid-size Amazon-origin goods; the size, counts and condition vary, with no verified Amazon-wide size cutoff. See: Amazon mediums.

AMXL

Amazon's handling stream for large, heavy or bulky goods; it describes handling rather than a liquidation condition grade. Source. See: Amazon buying routes.

Apparel

Clothing and footwear; check sizes, matched pairs, tags and condition separately. See: apparel pallets.

Approved sanitization

Treatment that meets the relevant bedding or upholstery regulator's rules; surface cleaning alone doesn't show that the treatment meets those rules. Source. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

As-is

A sale term whose effect depends on the agreement, rather than a description of whether goods work. Amazon's January 29, 2026 liquidation contract includes both as-is terms and a process for reporting mismatches. Source. See: checking suppliers.

Asking price

The price a seller requests in an advert; it is separate from a completed sale or the amount you'll receive. See: pricing pallet items.

ATEP

Amazon Tax Exemption Program, which collects tax-exemption paperwork; check the enrollment terms for your purchase. Source. See: Amazon buying routes.

Auction

A sale where buyers compete by offering prices, called bids; read the rules before placing one. See: online marketplaces.

Auctioneer

The person or business running an auction; its sale terms may apply alongside the website's terms. See: online marketplaces.

B

Bare tool / tool only

A tool offered without accessories included in a kit; check the exact model's included-parts list rather than relying on one maker's letter codes. Source. See: tools and home improvement.

Bedding

Goods such as mattresses and box springs; check the state's definition because a bare frame may fall under different rules. Source. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Bid

The price you offer in an auction; a current bid is still an offer, and the auction's terms govern any duty to pay. See: online marketplaces.

Billable weight

The weight a carrier uses to price a parcel, which may reflect its size as well as its scale weight. See: packing and shipping.

Bin store

A shop that offers individual liquidation goods in bins; some use a weekly price cycle, with their own rules on opening and testing goods. See: local auctions and bin stores.

Biohazard-contact products

Goods that have been in contact with biological hazards; Amazon's liquidation contract applies specific restrictions when such products show opening or use. Source. See: high-piece-count truckloads.

BOL / bill of lading

A freight document recording shipment details and transport terms; keep it with delivery evidence, separately from the seller's item list. Source. See: pallet freight.

Bookkeeping

Keeping orderly records of sales, purchases, expenses and other money movements. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Box spring

A support base used under some mattresses; check any state bedding rules that apply. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Break-even

The point where receipts cover the costs you've counted; name those costs so the sum can be checked. See: profit after expenses.

Bundle

Different items offered together for one price; disclose the contents and each item's condition. See: slow-stock exit plans.

Business day

A day counted under the sale or platform's timing rules, usually excluding weekends and holidays; check how the rule applies to your deadline. See: Amazon buying routes.

Business-to-business

A sale from one business to another; buying approval and purchase terms depend on the program. See: Amazon buying routes.

Buy Now

Buying at the stated price rather than competing through bids; the listing's fees and terms still apply. Source. See: online marketplaces.

Buyer certificate

GovDeals' document for pickup or delivery, with seller details supplied after payment through it or a release message. Source. See: online marketplaces.

Buyer's premium

A charge added to the goods price; B-Stock Supply US states 10% of the final winning bid. That rate applies to the cited program, so check your order's rate and fee base. Source 1, Source 2. See: B-Stock auctions.

Buyer-arranged shipping

The buyer books transport where the listing allows it; Walmart's marketplace distinguishes this from seller-arranged shipping. Source. See: pallet freight.

Care label

A label giving cleaning methods for a garment; follow it and keep it with the item. Source. See: apparel pallets.

Carrier

The company that transports your goods, such as a freight firm or parcel company. See: packing and shipping.

Carton / case

A box of goods; its count may differ from the count of complete products inside. See: case packs.

Case pack

Several units of the same product packed together; confirm whether a count means cases, inner packs or individual retail units. Source. See: case packs.

Case, buyer support

The platform's record of a buyer problem, including messages, evidence, options and deadlines; this use of case differs from a shipping carton. See: returns and refunds.

Certificate of Authority

New York's sales tax registration document; it is separate from that state's ST-120 resale purchase form. Source. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

Cherry-picking

Selecting items from a group before offering the rest; ask what was removed and who selected it. See: single-pallet buying.

Claim

A request for payment, a refund or other relief for a problem covered by an agreement; the seller, platform and carrier can have different claim routes. See: returns and refunds.

Clear wrap

Transparent stretch film around a pallet; it shows exposed surfaces but leaves enclosed contents and function unchecked. Source. See: clear-wrap premium pallets.

Clear-wrap premium

A combined label sellers may use for visible wrapped stock and their own selection claims; no shared condition grade or verified test standard was found for this label. See: clear-wrap premium pallets.

Commercial / retail postage rates

Different ways of buying postage; a marketplace label can use different rate terms from a purchase at a carrier counter. See: packing and shipping.

Commission

A platform's charge for a sale; keep it separate from payment-processing charges and other fees. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Completed sale / completed transaction

A past purchase with an actual buyer payment; compare the item, condition and shipping terms when using it to research a price. See: pricing pallet items.

Completion, Whatnot report

The point when order funds have cleared in Whatnot's weekly report; keep this date separate from when the buyer placed the order. Source. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Concealed freight damage

Damage found after receipt rather than visible on the outside at handover; Estes has separate notice and written-claim rules. Source. See: pallet freight.

Condition grade / condition code

A seller or platform label for the state of goods; read its full definition and keep product condition apart from box condition. See: manifests and grades.

Consignee

The receiving party named in the freight paperwork; put the recipient's name and address in the bill of lading's consignee section. Source. See: pallet freight.

Consumable

A product that is consumed; check the exact purchase contract when this term sets limits on resale. Source. See: high-piece-count truckloads.

Contract listing

B-Stock's arrangement for future or recurring stock purchases; the term and quantity depend on the contract. Source. See: B-Stock auctions.

Cosmetic

A product intended to clean the body or change appearance; a product's intended uses and claims can also make it a drug. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Cosmetic shelf life

The time a cosmetic remains suitable under its storage and use conditions; FDA sets no single duration and generally doesn't require an expiry label for cosmetics. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Cosmetic-and-drug product

A product with both cosmetic and drug uses, such as anti-dandruff shampoo or makeup with sun-protection claims; both sets of rules apply. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Cost of goods sold / COGS

An accounting calculation of the cost assigned to goods sold under the relevant inventory and accounting method; it differs from all cash spent on a pallet that still holds unsold stock. Source. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Counterfeit / inauthentic

A copy passed off as the genuine product claimed; confirm identity before listing, since eBay permits listings only when the seller is certain the item is genuine. Source. See: generic merchandise.

CPSC

US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the federal product-safety agency whose recall search helps you check the actual model. Source. See: inspection and testing.

CSV

A plain table file you can open in a spreadsheet; keep the report's column notes and dates with the export. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Cubic inch

A unit of volume; a box's length, width and height in inches multiply to give cubic inches for shipping calculations. See: packing and shipping.

Curbside delivery

Delivery near the street or driveway; ABF's ordinary home freight service leaves inside placement as a separate service. Source. See: pallet freight.

Customer return

Goods a shopper sent back to a retailer; the cited marketplace allows varying condition, packaging and parts, so return history alone won't show whether a unit works. Source. See: manifests and grades.

Daily / Retail UPS rates

UPS rate categories; use the category attached to your quote when calculating a parcel charge. Source. See: packing and shipping.

DDR lithium batteries

Damaged, defective or recalled lithium batteries; check the regulator and carrier's handling and shipping rules, separately from rules for used devices with sound batteries. Source 1, Source 2. See: packing and shipping.

Decanted goods

Products poured into another container; eBay bars decanted cosmetics under its cosmetics policy. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Declared amount

The amount you state for carrier liability, or what it may be responsible for paying; coverage still depends on the shipment's terms. See: packing and shipping.

Delivery receipt

A record of what was handed over at delivery; record visible damage and keep it with the freight documents. See: pallet freight.

Density

Weight in relation to the space goods take up; freight classification can use it alongside handling and other factors. Source. See: pallet freight.

Detention

A carrier charge for holding a truck at pickup or delivery beyond the allowed free time; check the time allowance and charging terms. Source. See: pallet freight.

Dimensional weight

A weight used for pricing based on the space a parcel takes up; a light item in a large box can be priced this way. Source. See: packing and shipping.

Divisor

The number used to turn a parcel's volume into dimensional weight; use the carrier's rule for the service and rate you're buying. See: packing and shipping.

Dock

A raised platform for receiving goods from a truck; confirm how the shipment will be moved from there. See: receiving and storage.

Donation

Giving goods to a recipient without a sale payment; confirm it accepts the exact item and keep recalled or unsafe goods out of ordinary donation stock. See: slow-stock exit plans.

Drug concentration

How much active drug a given amount of a product contains; check platform rules for that product before listing. See: health and beauty pallets.

Drug expiration date

A labelled date based on drug stability under stated storage conditions; an undecoded batch code supplies different information. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

ECCN

Export Control Classification Number, used to find the Commerce Control List rules for goods; classify the actual product and review the destination before offering overseas delivery. Source. See: Bass Pro-labelled offers.

EIN

Employer Identification Number, a federal tax ID; follow a state's form instructions rather than using it by default where a state sales tax ID is requested. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

EPA

US Environmental Protection Agency; its rules cover topics such as refrigerant disposal and waste handling relevant to resale stock. Source. See: appliance pallets and truckloads.

Exemption certificate

A form used to claim a permitted sales-tax exemption; resale is one reason, and the relevant state's rules decide eligibility. Source. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

FBA / Fulfillment by Amazon

Amazon's service for storing and shipping goods for other sellers; this relationship doesn't describe a unit's condition. Source. See: Amazon buying routes.

Fee base

The amount a fee applies to; it can include charges beyond the item price, so read the platform's calculation rules. Source. See: selling on eBay.

Fee credit

An entry reversing part or all of a fee; keep it linked to the order and platform record. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

FFL

Federal firearms license for specified firearms or ammunition business activities; federal licensing and state ammunition-vendor rules have different scopes. Source 1, Source 2, Source 3. See: Bass Pro-labelled offers.

Fiber content

What a textile is made from, such as cotton or wool; use its label for these claims rather than guessing by touch. Source. See: apparel pallets.

Fixtures

Goods fitted in place, such as home-improvement items; check the exact parts and intended setup before listing. See: tools and home improvement.

Flat-pack furniture

Furniture parts packed flat for assembly; check panels, hardware and any other cartons needed to make a complete item. See: stacked furniture.

Flat-rate shipping

A stated shipping charge; check the listing for the services and delivery point it includes. See: single-pallet buying.

Floor-stacked freight

Goods shipped on the trailer floor without a pallet unloading arrangement, as in some Walmart appliance truckloads; confirm the equipment and help required. Source. See: pallet freight.

FOB / Free on Board

Under ICC Incoterms 2020, a sea or inland-waterway rule for delivery aboard a vessel at a named port. Domestic sellers may use FOB with a state or region, so ask who pays freight and when ownership and responsibility pass under the agreement. Source 1, Source 2. See: pallet freight.

Footprint

The floor space a pallet or item takes up; also check height, weight and the path into storage. See: receiving and storage.

Forklift

A powered machine used to lift and move pallets; arrange trained help and suitable equipment before receiving freight. See: receiving and storage.

Freight

Transport of bulky goods, such as pallets or truckloads, by a carrier; ask for a quote to your actual receiving point. See: pallet freight.

Freight broker

A business that arranges transport with carriers; ask which party handles delivery questions and claims. See: pallet freight.

Freight claim

A formal request for payment for shipment loss or damage; carrier deadlines and evidence rules apply separately from the seller's goods claims. Source. See: pallet freight.

Freight class / NMFC classification

A rating group used to price freight under the current National Motor Freight Classification system, based on the goods and relevant density, handling and liability factors; there is no single class for liquidation pallets. Source. See: pallet freight.

FTL / full truckload

A shipment with a dedicated trailer set aside for its goods; it has no fixed pallet count or rule that every part of the trailer must be filled. Source. See: pallet freight.

Full refund

Money sent back for the agreed full amount; follow the platform's rules on included shipping, fees and timing. See: returns and refunds.

Functional warranty

A program's label for coverage of specified functions; GE's liquidation FAQ describes one-year functional coverage, but full limits and transfer to later buyers weren't verified. Source. See: appliance pallets and truckloads.

G

Generic / non-original packaging

Plain or replacement packaging in place of the original retail box; a branded product can arrive in it. Source. See: generic merchandise.

Generic, Amazon product brand

Amazon's policy uses generic for goods without an identifiable brand; an unfamiliar real brand and a mixed assortment are different cases. Source. See: generic merchandise.

Generics / generic merchandise

Some sellers use generics for unbranded or little-known-brand goods; others mean general merchandise, a mix of product types. Ask which meaning applies to the lot. See: generic merchandise.

GM / general merchandise

A mix of product types; Target-labelled GM programs may keep or remove clothing, so GM alone leaves exclusions and condition unclear. See: Target general merchandise.

Google device protection

Android's account-linked protection can require a previously synced Google account after a reset; use the valid account-release process. Source. See: electronics pallets.

Grade A / A grade

A seller's condition label with no shared test method in the checked sources; ask whether it covers appearance, function, parts or a mix. See: manifests and grades.

Gross / gross sales

Gross is an amount before deductions; gross sales is the total charged for goods before fees or refunds, subject to what a report includes. See: profit after expenses.

Hangtag

A loose retail tag attached by string or plastic; it differs from sewn-in fabric and care labels. See: apparel pallets.

Hard furniture

Furniture without padding; inspect it separately from bedding and upholstered pieces. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Hardgoods

In the cited Target GM sorting program, goods left after clothing is removed; ask each seller what its label includes. See: Target general merchandise.

Hardware, furniture

Screws, bolts and fittings joining furniture parts; use the exact model's parts list before assembly. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Hazardous materials / hazmat

Contents that can pose a danger during transport; check the carrier's rules before choosing a service. Source. See: packing and shipping.

HBA / health and beauty aids

A seller's broad category for health, beauty and personal-care goods; products in the group can have different legal classes and sale rules. See: health and beauty pallets.

High piece count / HPC

Seller shorthand for an assortment with many units, often small goods; counts come from the offer rather than a shared minimum. Source. See: high-piece-count truckloads.

Hold, funds

Money set aside while a platform waits for an event or case to be resolved; keep it visible when matching payouts. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Home goods

Kitchenware, decor, bedding and storage as a product category; the category name is separate from the HomeGoods store brand. See: home goods pallets.

I

ID / identifier

A short reference used to connect records; an item, order and payout can each have a separate ID. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Inner pack

A group of goods inside a larger carton; confirm products per pack and packs per carton before calculating retail units. Source. See: case packs.

Insertion fee

eBay's charge for placing a listing, subject to the account's allowance and category rules; it differs from charges on a completed sale. Source. See: selling on eBay.

Insurance, shipping

Coverage for shipment problems under the policy's terms; check exclusions and required evidence before relying on it. See: packing and shipping.

Inventory / stock

Goods you hold for sale, including units waiting to be checked, repaired or listed; count remaining quantities as well as listed goods. See: slow-stock exit plans.

Invoice

A bill listing purchase charges; keep it with the offer and check whether shipping is already included before adding it again. See: landed cost.

Irregulars / seconds

A seller's category for goods with manufacturing flaws; some offers mix this label with returns or used goods, so check the actual description and unit. Source. See: apparel pallets.

Item specifics

The product-details fields in an eBay listing; check them against the actual unit, its parts and condition. See: selling on eBay.

Landed cost

The purchase price plus the inbound costs you include to bring goods to a named destination, such as freight, tax and handling; list the included charges so the total can be checked. Source. See: landed cost.

Law label

A regulator-required bedding or upholstery tag, separate from a price tag or shipping label; state programs set the rules. Source 1, Source 2. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Ledger

A list of money movements; a platform ledger may need order receipts alongside it to explain detailed fees. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Liftgate

A platform at the back of a truck that raises or lowers freight between trailer and ground; confirm capacity, availability and any charge for your shipment. Source. See: pallet freight.

Limited Overland Routes

A USPS rate for eligible Alaska routes without an overland connection; check the listed destinations and rate rules. Source. See: packing and shipping.

Liquidation

Selling stock a business is clearing out, which can include excess goods, returns and damaged items; read the offer for contents and condition. See: your first pallet.

Liquidator

A business selling cleared stock; verify the seller and the actual purchase terms. See: checking suppliers.

Listing

The sale page with an item's photos, description and asking price; update it when checks reveal new facts. See: selling on eBay.

Lot

The item or group offered in one sale; it might mean one pallet, several pallets or loose goods. See: online marketplaces.

LPN

License Plate Number, an Amazon code for tracking an individual unit; the sticker supplies no condition grade or public return-history lookup. Source. See: return labels and LPN pallets for buying descriptions.

LTL / less-than-truckload

Freight that shares trailer space with other shipments; size, weight and receiving services still need a quote for your shipment. Source. See: pallet freight.

Make an Offer

Sending a proposed price for the seller to review; check the site's rules for acceptance, charges and payment. Source. See: online marketplaces.

Manifest

The seller's item list, which may include descriptions, quantities, model numbers, other IDs and notes on function; read the file to see what it records and what is unknown. Source. See: manifests and grades.

Manifested

Offered with an item list; that list's existence alone supplies no proof that every unit was function-tested. Source. See: manifests and grades.

Marketplace

A website hosting sales; the business selling your goods may be separate from the platform. See: online marketplaces.

Marketplace facilitator collection

Sales-tax collection by a platform under the relevant state's rules; Texas says marketplace sellers can still have permit and filing duties. Source. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

Master carton

An outer box that can hold smaller packs; count its contents separately from the number of outer cartons. Source. See: case packs.

Media sanitization

A process that makes access to target data infeasible at a stated effort level, with a suitable method, checks and records; use current guidance and the device's rules. Source. See: electronics pallets.

Misbranded cosmetic

A cosmetic that fails legal label or sales-claim rules, such as false information or missing required label details. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Misdescribed

Different from the description in the listing; save the listing and evidence when handling a buyer's report. See: returns and refunds.

Mixed condition

An assortment that can contain goods in different states; read the seller's grade definition and check units separately. Source. See: manifests and grades.

MoCRA

Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, which assigns cosmetics duties by business role; check the rules if you import, relabel, repackage or use your name on products. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

MoCRA responsible person

The cosmetic's manufacturer, packer or distributor whose name appears on its label; that role has specified duties, including product listing, separate from facility registration. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Model number

An ID for a product version; it differs from a serial number identifying one unit. See: generic merchandise.

Monster

Seller shorthand for tall mixed pallets; the cited offer includes returns and overstock, without creating an official Amazon condition grade. Source. See: monster truckloads.

Monster mediums

A seller's combined size label showing that monster and medium labels can overlap; get actual measurements rather than assuming fixed size tiers. See: Amazon mediums.

MSRP

Manufacturer's suggested retail price; it differs from a seller's retail reference figure and from actual sale receipts. Source. See: pricing pallet items.

Multi-carton item

One product supplied in several boxes; receiving one box leaves the other parts to be checked before counting a complete item. Source. See: furniture pallets and truckloads.

Multistate exemption certificate / SST form

Streamlined Sales Tax's form framework for member states; permitted reasons, IDs and eligibility still depend on each state. Source. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

Mystery pallet

An offer with some or all contents undisclosed; visible goods or a stated category still leave gaps to review before buying. See: mystery and unmanifested pallets.

Net

An amount after stated deductions; check which deductions a report includes before comparing it with another total. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

New with Defects

Whatnot's apparel grade for unused, unworn goods with disclosed minor cosmetic flaws; tags or original packaging may be missing. Source. See: apparel pallets.

New with imperfections

eBay's apparel grade for brand-new, unworn goods with defects; tags may be absent, so check the full category rules. Source. See: apparel pallets.

New with tags / NWT

A platform apparel grade that requires more than an attached tag. Whatnot requires unused, unworn goods with original packaging and tags and no visible defects; eBay's clothing definition allows original tags or packaging. Source 1, Source 2. See: apparel pallets.

Nexus

A connection with a state that can create tax duties; location, sales and other business activities need review under that state's rules. Source. See: resale certificates and sales tax.

NMFTA

National Motor Freight Traffic Association, which publishes the NMFC freight classification system; use the current classification for the actual goods. Source. See: pallet freight.

Not working

A record label for a confirmed function failure; name the fault and keep other unchecked functions visible. See: inspection and testing.

O

Open box

A platform and category-specific grade: eBay's supported definition includes an unused item, while Whatnot electronics allows light demo or testing use with no function defects and all original accessories. Order

The platform's record of the buyer's purchase; use its ID to connect sale details, fees, refunds and payouts. See: returns and refunds.

OSHA

Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the US workplace-safety agency whose storage guidance covers stable stacks, clear aisles and lifting hazards. Source. See: receiving and storage.

OTC / over-the-counter drug

Medicine available without a prescription; OTC status still leaves the product subject to drug rules. Source. See: health and beauty pallets.

Overstock

Excess stock, treated separately from customer returns in the cited Amazon program; check the actual offer's product and packaging condition. Source. See: manifests and grades.

Pallet

A flat base for moving goods; sellers also use pallet to mean the batch packed on that base. See: your first pallet.

Pallet jack

Equipment that lifts a pallet slightly so it can roll on a suitable surface; plan separately for removing it from the trailer. See: receiving and storage.

Parcel

A package sent to a buyer; use its packed size and weight when choosing postage. See: packing and shipping.

Partial refund

Money sent back for part of the agreed amount, sometimes with the buyer keeping the goods; save the agreement in the case. See: returns and refunds.

Payment processing fee

A charge for handling the buyer's payment; keep it separate from the platform's sale commission. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Payout

Money a platform transfers from your seller balance to your bank; it can combine several orders, fees, refunds and adjustments. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Pending funds

Money that hasn't cleared for payout yet; use the report's timing rules when checking it against your bank. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

POD / proof of delivery

A record that delivery took place; keep it with the shipment ID and delivery receipt. Source. See: pallet freight.

PRO reference

Processed

Professionally sealed surprise product

Protective-equipment recertification

Raw / unprocessed

Raw Target GM

Recall

Recall remedy

Reconciliation

Record retention

Refrigerant

Release / warehouse release

Repacked

Boxed or grouped again; ask who did it and whether goods were added, removed or replaced. See: single-pallet buying.

Replacement

Another unit sent to resolve a buyer's problem; keep it linked to the original order and any agreement. See: returns and refunds.

Repricing

Changing an asking price; record the old price, change date and next review date. See: slow-stock exit plans.

Resale certificate

State-specific paperwork for qualifying purchases intended for resale; New York's ST-120, revised January 2026, is one example. Reseller lot

Reseller permit, Washington

Residential delivery

Restocking

Several units grouped as one retail pack; it can count as one resale unit when offered that way. See: case packs.

Retail ready

The cited marketplace's label for stock receiving some inspection or testing and generally prepared for resale, with possible cosmetic flaws; the label leaves each unit's test scope unclear. Source. See: manifests and grades.

Retail reference figure / retail total

Return, buyer sale

Goods sent back by your buyer; inspect them before listing again and record any refund separately. See: returns and refunds.

RTA / ready-to-assemble

Sales tax permit

Section 608 technician certification

Seller balance

Money held in your platform account, including amounts that may be pending or held before payout. See: bookkeeping and payouts.

Seller-arranged shipping

The seller books transport under the order's terms; Walmart's marketplace policy treats this separately from whether freight is included in the goods price. Source. See: pallet freight.

Serial number

An ID for one individual unit, separate from the model number for a product version. See: generic merchandise.

Service, shipping

The transport option booked with a carrier, with its own routes, size limits and contents rules. See: packing and shipping.

Shelf pull

SST / Streamlined Sales Tax

SSTRS

Stacked furniture

State registration

Stock / sample photo

Universal waste

Unmanifested

Untested

No full function check is stated under the seller's definition, and the cited marketplace says testing must be stated; working condition remains unknown. UPC / Universal Product Code

A product ID linked to a barcode; it differs from an ID for one individual unit. See: generic merchandise.

Upholstered furniture
